Tips for Safeguarding Indoor Air Quality

Tips for Safeguarding Indoor Air Quality

There are so many social organizations and non governmental organizations that create awareness among the public about the dangers of poor quality of air and how important it is to protect our environment. Unfortunately, there are no organizations or programs that are available to the people to help them realize how careless we are about the quality of air that we breathe in the closed environments including our homes, offices and industries. You will be shocked to learn that the quality of the indoor air is much inferior to the outdoor environment.

One of the factors that affect the quality of the air is the moisture. So moisture control is highly essential to ensure the quality of the air in both residential and commercial situations. Moisture control in commercial situations is lot more challenging and expensive.

The dangers of loss due to water force industries to seal themselves completely from the outside world and spend thousands of dollars on maintaining their water supply systems and plumbing problems. At the same time what they forget is that inadequate moisture levels too can be equally dangerous. Structural engineers advise that all the structures need a certain level of humidity for a long structural life. Not many of us are aware that buildings too need to breathe for a long life. This problem can be effectively addressed by installing industrial humidifiers in buildings that are sealed completely from the outside world. The industrial humidifiers will help in maintaining the right moisture level inside the building and at the same time the moisture level will not create any dampness or water damage to the goods stored inside.

There are different types of industrial humidifiers. One of the very basic types is water wick humidifier. The basic components of this humidifier include a fan, a reservoir and a wick. The water that is stored in the reservoir is evaporated constantly through the wick which absorbs the water. The fan helps in the circulation of the evaporated air. This needs a lot of maintenance efforts because the wick needs constant cleaning and replacement for the system to be effective.

There are steam humidifiers which boil water and release the steam and moisture into the air. However, this may not be an effective method for large areas and it is difficult to maintain uniform humidity for a large space.

There are humidifiers that use fractal frequency technology. Here micro-droplets of water are sprayed into the air using a uniform distribution system. One of the crucial aspects to be watched here is the amount of water that settles on the goods that are stored in the building. If the industrial humidifiers are not properly designed then it will not produce the needed humidity and it can also damage the goods stored inside through excessive dampness. If you use reliable industrial humidifiers you can save yourself from all these risks.
